Handmade traditional hawktail style broom with Sweet Annie that was grown here on our farm 🌿
This broom is wrapped with slate blue nylon and is adorned with a dragonfly charm. Broom measures approximately 15 inches.Â
Sweet Annie (Artemisia annua) is also known as sweet wormwood or annual wormwood. It’s a wonderfully aromatic herb with feathery foliage and tiny flowers that hold their fragrance beautifully when dried.
In Balkan folk-magic traditions, little brooms were traditionally made from Sweet Annie stalks and used for ritual cleansing, sweeping spaces and objects free of what was considered unwanted or unclean energy.
Artemisia itself has a long history of folklore and magical associations with protection, purification, dreams, divination and psychic awareness.
