Sage is a well known garden plant in the mint family. It has been cultivated with intention for centuries for it's healing, culinary, and magical properties.
White sage in particular has been used in sacred Native American and Shamanic beliefs for many years. In recent years white sage has become popular with modern magical practice and has led to overharvesting in the wild.
This sage was grown and harvested from my own herb garden, so there is a limited supply!
There is an old proverb dating from the middle ages that sums up the power of this amazing herb - "Why should a man die whilst sage grows in his garden?"

For loose incense burning:
Burning of plants, trees, and herbs has been used for many years by many different cultures as a way to clear spaces and people of negative energy. It is also commonly used in meditation and ritual, or for protection. Science has also shown that herbal smudging cleans the air of bacteria and contaminates.
To use:
Fill a heat proof incense bowl with at least 2" of sand, or natural ash. This will provide insulation for your burner. Charcoal can burn at up to 1500 degrees F
Using tongs or tweezers to hold the charcoal, light it from the bottom with a lighter and place in your burner.
When the charcoal is glowing red hot and covered in grayish ash (usually about 5 minutes), add a pinch of your incense.
When the smoke begins to thin you can add more. Be careful to not add too much as it can smother the charcoal and put it out.
The charcoal will typically stay hot enough to burn incense for 30 - 45 minutes.
**Never leave a hot burner unattended. Keep out of reach of pets and children. We do not guarantee any specific results with use of this product.**
