Lughnasadh Candle
Lughnasadh, also known as Lammas, lands on the 1st of August and is the 7th stop on the Wheel of the Year. Marking the midway point between the Summer Solstice and the Autumn Equinox, Lughnasadh is the first of 3 harvest festivals.
Thanks are due for the abundant summer crops and the first grain harvest as we honor Lugh, the Celtic Sun King and God of Light. The energies of summer are shifting and the sun begins to wane. This is a time of gratitude and transformation. The rapid growth of summer begins to slow and the darker days of winter are calling. A sense of anticipation can be felt in the air as the first grains are harvested in preparation.
Honor the Goddess in her aspect as Grain Mother and Harvest Queen on this day by baking bread or collecting berries and other ripe and ready herbs and crops.
The Lughnasadh Candle is scented in sweet and salty Blackberry Bread, and is the perfect scent for this late summer harvest holiday.
The Lughnasadh Candle is decorated with:
- Agate - warmth, hope, balance energies
- Green Aventurine - opportunity, abundance, joy, earth connection
- Marigold - positive outlook, psychic ability, happiness
- Peppermint - abundance, prosperity, raise vibrations

ABOUT OUR CANDLES:
Why is soy wax better than parrafin?
Soy wax is an all natural vegetable wax that is made from, you guessed it - soy beans! This makes it 100 times more sustainable as it is derived from a renewable resource, where paraffin wax is derived from petroleum, coal, or oil shale.
Soy wax burns slower and cleaner, and has no additives or preservatives. It is a healthier choice for us and the environment 🌍.
Hemp wicks are also a healthier alternative to standard cotton wicks. Hemp is a fast growing, sustainable and renewable resource. These wicks produce little to no black smoke, are lead and zinc free, and last longer!
Candle Safety and directions:
Trim the wick of your candle to 1/4 inch prior to first use and every time you burn it.
Soy wax has a memory. When you burn a soy candle and then extinguish it, the next time you burn it, the wax will only melt across as far as it did the first time. Let your candle burn long enough on the first burn to melt all the way across the top to prevent tunneling.
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Never extinguish a burning candle with water.
Always burn on a stable heat resistant surface that is out of open air drafts.
Keep out of reach of children and pets.
