Yule Herbal Incense
Yule is the second stop on the Wheel of the Year, also known as the Winter Solstice. This is the shortest day of the year, all days after becoming increasingly longer. It is a time to celebrate the rebirth of the sun.
Yule reminds us of the light after dark, a time to release any struggles we've worked through during the Autumn season, and be thankful for the return of lighter and longer days.
Burning of plants, trees, and herbs has been used for many years by many different cultures as a way to clear spaces and people of negative energy. It is also commonly used in meditation and ritual, or for protection. Science has also shown that herbal smudging cleans the air of bacteria and contaminates.
Our Yule Celebration Loose Incense Blend is a magical combination of dried orange, purple sage, pine, juniper leaves and berries, cedar, frankincense tears, and peppermint.
Pine, Juniper, and Cedar - these evergreens are symbolic of everlasting life and prosperity and are a central part of Yule tradition. Burn for energy cleansing of spaces.
Orange - It is an old tradition to gift an orange to loved ones at Yule. Oranges are associated with the sun, and are a symbol of the rebirth of the sun after the longest night, the return of warmth.
Peppermint - burn for love, happiness, and abundance. Also cleanses energy.
Frankincense - burn for spiritual illumination and protection
Sage - protection from all types of negatve energies, cleanses spaces
Yule Celebration incense blend comes is a reusable 2 oz tin and contains 0.6 oz dried herbs and resins. This is a loose incense that requires a heat proof burner and charcoal tablets.
Fill a heat proof incense bowl with at least 2" of sand, or natural ash. This will provide insulation for your burner. Charcoal can burn at up to 1500 degrees F
Using tongs or tweezers to hold the charcoal, light it from the bottom with a lighter and place in your burner.
When the charcoal is glowing red hot and covered in grayish ash (usually about 5 minutes), add a pinch of your incense.
When the smoke begins to thin you can add more. Be careful to not add too much as it can smother the charcoal and put it out.
The charcoal will typically stay hot enough to burn incense for 30 - 45 minutes.
**Never leave a hot burner unattended. Keep out of reach of pets and children. We do not guarantee any specific results with use of this product.**

I really enjoy numerous Katie Mae incense offerings both as loose blends and hand-dipped sticks. Each incense in either form features a nice mix of fragrant, aromatic natural elements. I always keep Yule, Fire Power and from the Forest on hand but also enjoy seasonal blends. Orders are packed with care, sent promptly and feature a hand-written note of thanks. Great quality is consistent, and the personal touches is also very much appreciated. Thanks, Katie!
